This blog is for the Cherokee Trail Wired Cougar participants. Wired Cougars are teachers who are in the process of earning laptops via participation in technology related staff development.
Please summarize your unit plan. Include the method you will use (two lessons or calendar), the marzano strategies you will use and the technology related assessment that will be included.
I am also using my Tobacco Unit for my final project. I am creating the Unit Calendar. The two lessons I will emphasize are my Tobacco WebQuest and the BIG anti-tobacco campaign. In the campaign, students have the choice of creating an anti-tobacco poster, or podcasting. My technology assessment tool is an online quiz through 4teacher.org (Quizstar). Throughout this unit, students have the opportunity to learn in all different types of enironments. They get to learn hands-on (summarizing and note-taking) with the WebQuest, and colloborate with peers during the campaign. This has definitely been my favorite unit to teach because of the interactive, hands-on application of the content.
Janis and I completed our unit in economics called "Learning from the Stock Market Game". This was kind of a tough gig due to some of the requirements for the project. We submitted the strategies (collaborative grouping) as well as did the calendaring. I suppose I should complete this type of format for every unit I teach, but that would be tricky just for lack of time.
